Photographer's Jacket
This jacket was designed and created during the third year of my fashion design degree. The goal of the assignment was to choose a specific end use that could benefit from a technical jacket, and design a garment using Gore-Tex material and seam sealing technology that would be specifically suited to that end use. I chose to make a jacket geared toward the specific needs of outdoor photographers. The pattern was drafted using the Gerber pattern drafting system, and sewn at the school using regular sewing machines as well as a seam sealer and various other technology.

Some of the features that I incorporated to fit the needs of an outdoor photographer included a removable hood with a transparent visor, removable padding on the shoulders and neck to help disperse the weight of equipment bags, reinforcement at the forearms and backside for times when crawling on the ground is necessary, and several specialized pockets including some for small technology like SD cards and expandable pockets for items like lenses and other gear.
