This jacket combined traditional tailoring techniques with the technique of transformational reconstruction. The book "Pattern Magic" was used as inspiration for the collar and TR effect in the back. French cuffs, which are normally used for men's dress shirts, were used here to add a to the sense of traditional technique while doing so in an unconventional way. The pattern for this jacket was done by hand.

The process for creating this jacket involved three different prototypes, adjusting fit and design lines for each one. The Transformational Reconstruction effect (which you can see at the back of the jacket as the oblong shaped inserts that extend out into the flare in the bottom of the jacket) was created by drawing design lines on a basic jacket block, then cutting out along the design lines, adding flare along those lines, and then re-sewing the new shape into the old cut out area.
